I am a fairly balanced individual and as such find random acts of kindness totally unnecessary. On this occasion i will make an exception. Cold Comfort Farm is Sh*t, do not read it. I have metaphoricaly clipped the electrodes of Cold Comfort Farm to my gonads so you don't have to.

Basically, posh woman goes to live with backwards cousins on farm
procedes to organise their lives so they are not so backward.
Young Cousin gets married to Lord
You never find out what was in the woodshed
and the book ends with main character getting picked up by bloke in plane who she decides she loves.

I hope that has ruined it for you so you don't have to consider reading it. It is the biggest load of patronising bollocks imaginable. If Mercy killings ever become legal in this country it will include a clause for people reading this book - just shoot them, they'll thank you for it.

For purposes of a balanced review i would like to end on something posotive - This book is reasonably flammable.
